Find Your Best Flight

At Italian Tours by Diana, we are incredibly dedicated to your journey abroad.
To ensure the best experience on land, we do not book airfare in our office. We focus on the time you will explore La Bella Italia and Europe. This means you are responsible for your own international flights- whether you book independently, through our affiliate, or using another agent.

• Note that flights departing from the Eastern part of the US tend to leave in the late afternoon or early evening, and arrive in Europe by noon or so the next day. The time difference means that the first and last day of your itinerary will be dedicated to transportation. 
• Consider using points: Many credit cards and airlines offer point programs or miles, which results in free or discounted travel. See what your memberships can earn you! Some credit cards also insure money spent on travel, which can be a nice perk as well.
• Remember to select Multi-City Search: Two one-way tickets tend to be expensive! If your arrival and departure city are different, the Multi-City tool can help you find the best rates. For example, you can search "New York to Milan, Naples to New York"  instead of two one-way. 
• Shop around: Checking multiple sites, like Google Flights, HipMunk, Momondo, Expedia and more can help you find the best deals.  You can even set up alerts to tell you when the prices fall!
• Be flexible:  Play around with dates prior to making your trip deposit with us. Sometimes leaving a day earlier or later can save big bucks!  Perhaps even check nearby cities to see if they offer better itineraries or lower prices. For example,  from Cleveland, you can find flight deals from Toronto, Pittsburgh or Detroit. The extra drive can be worth it!
• Choose smart layovers: We recommend a minimum of 2 hours between flights to accommodate for gate changes, delays, terminal transfers, etc.  Have a shorter layover? Be ready to move quickly. Have a layover longer than 5 hours?  We do not recommend leaving the airport (unless it is an overnight layover). Otherwise, you would need to consider transport time, returning through security again, possible delays or changes, etc. The risks usually outweigh the benefits of exploring your layover city.  A good alternative would be to look into your airline's lounges; often, you can buy an affordable one-day pass and have a comfortable place to wait until your next flight!    
• Know your preferences: Do you like aisle seats or windows? Do you hate flying out of JFK Airport but love your experience at Newark? Are you an economy deal-hunter or a first class luxury-seeker? Do you prefer to get up early for a flight, or would rather travel into the night? Consider these important questions before you begin your flight search. This will help you narrow your results right off the bat.

Unfortunately, we as travelers and agents have no control over the airlines, the weather, air traffic control, baggage restrictions, delays or cancellations. When you arrive to the airport on your departure day, remember that you are subject to the airlines rules and regulations; try to relax and think of your beautiful journey ahead!
